Stalin (Joseph Vissarionovich Djugashvili) was born in Gori, Georgia.
1879 December 9(21)

Stalin is arrested under the alias Zakhar Grigoryan Melikyants. He is confined in the Bailov Prison in Baku.While in prison he receives the order of the Viceroy of the Caucasus dated August 27 prohibiting him from residing in the Caucasus for five years. He is taken under escort to Solvychegodsk.

He is in his absence elected à member of the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party at the Sixth ("Prague'') General Party Conference.

Lenin and Stalin direct the October armed uprising. They visit the headquarters of the Petrograd Military Area and together with military experts work out a plan of operations for routing the Kerensky-Krasnov forces.

He takes part in the work of the First Congress of the Communist International as a member of the delegation of the RCP(B).

Stalin informs V. I. Lenin of the capture of Rostov by Budyonny's Cavalry.
Stalin signs an order of the day of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Southern Front congratulating the armies of the front on the defeat of Denikin's armies and the capture of the Donbas and Rostov.

Joseph Vissarionovich stands in the guard of honour at Lenin's bier in the Hall of Columns of the House of Trade Unions.

Great Soviet leader delivers the political report of the Central Committee at the Sixteenth Congress of the CPSU(b).
1930 June 27

Great Soviet leader writes an answer to the inquiry of the Jewish News Agency in the U.S.A. about the attitude in the USSR to anti-Semitism.

Great Soviet leader attends the memorial meeting at the Bolshoi Theatre to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the death of V. I. Lenin. He writes an answer to Aristov with reference to the letter "Some Questions Concerning the History of Bolshevism" sent to the editorial board of the magazine Proletarskaya Revolutsia. The reply was published in the magazine Bolshevik.
